Why you should seek help for your anxieties before its too late:

1.Getting help for dealing with your persistent fears and anxieties is the single most important step in your recovery. Many people are reluctant to get the help they need for various reasons. Making excuses of not getting the treatment for your anxiety problems will not solve the problem. Here are a few reasons on why getting help is important.

2.Getting help can lead to additional insights and suggestions to your stress and anxiety problems. A professional counselor can give you many ideas on how you can manage your fears and anxieties. This is important in getting better

3.Most counselors know of ways to get rid of your fears. They can recommend certain treatments that will make you feel a lot better. The only way you will get access to these treatments is if you go talk to a counselor. Ask your primary care physician if he or she knows anyone that can help you.

4.You can not manage your fears all by yourself. Our anxieties and fears can be extremely difficult to manage and more than likely you will need some help.

What You Can Do When Your Anxieties And Fears Overwhelm You

Here is what you can do when your anxieties overwhelm you:

1.Pace Yourself: When facing a current or upcoming task that overwhelms you with a lot of anxiety, the first thing you can do is to divide the task into a series of smaller steps. Completing these smaller tasks one at a time will make the stress more manageable.

2. Distract Yourself. Sometimes we get stressed out when everything happens all at once. When this happens, a person should take a deep breath and try to find something to do for a few minutes to get their mind off of the problem.

3.A person should visualize a red stop sign in their mind when they encounter a fear provoking thought. When the negative thought comes, a person should think of a red stop sign that serves as a reminder to stop focusing on that thought and to think of something else.

4.Another technique that is very helpful is to have a small notebook of positive statements that makes you feel good. Whenever you come across an affirmation that makes you feel good, write it down in a small notebook that you can carry around with you in your pocket.

How You Can Help Your Friend Who Struggles With Anxiety

How you can help your friend who struggles with anxiety:

1.Learn as much as you can in managing anxiety and depression. There are many books and information that will educate you on how to deal with fear and anxiety.

2.Be understanding and patient with the person struggling with their fears. Dealing with depression and anxiety can be difficult for the person so do not add more problems than what is already there.

3. Learn as much as you can. In every anxiety-related situation you experience, begin to learn what works, what doesn’t work, and what you need to improve on in managing your fears and anxieties.

4. Things Change Over Time.Another thing to remember is that things change and events do not stay the same. No one can predict the future with one hundred percent accuracy. Even if the thing that you feared does happen there are circumstances and factors that you can’t predict which can be used to your advantage

How To Tell Others About Your Mental Health Problems

How to talk to your friends about your stresses and anxieties:

1. Listen To The Professionals And Not Your Friends–Your friends may mean well, but when it comes down to it, the professionals know your situation more than anyone.

2. Your Goal Is To Get Better–Your goal is to get better, period. Don’t waste your time arguing with your friends or relatives who are giving you a difficult time.

3. Tell Your Friends To Learn About Your Condition–Tell your friends and relatives that the best way for them to help you is to learn about your condition. They could talk to a counselor, they could do family therapy, they could read some good books or join you at a support group to learn about your condition.

4. Distance Yourself From People Who Give You A Hard Time– Distance yourself from those people who won’t make an effort to help understand what you are going through. You need to surround yourself with positive and supportive people.

5. Remember your goal is to get better. Treat your mental health issues as a medical condition. If you have a medical condition, you go see a doctor to help treat it.  Don’t try to get everyone’s approval.
